It’s the weekend, which means it’s time for a round up! I am currently enjoying 70 degree weather here in Northwestern PA and have been all week! I know it’s only a matter of time before I’m shivering in the frigid temperatures and trecking to work through the snow. OK, here are my picks for the round up this weekend.

First, I want to start off with some great posts from the Debt Bloggers Network:
- Debt Reduction Formula presents “Visa Takes Life“. If you’re in debt and trying to get out, the last thing you need is more debt. So it will behoove you to avoid using credit cards — since credit cards are by far the easiest way to rapidly accumulate debt. I like how Ryan changes the slogan from “Life takes Visa” to “Visa takes Life”. How true.
- How I Save Money wrote, “Zero!”. Looks like Lulugal has managed to get her budget to zero. Quite a feat, way to go!
- Financial Wellness Project tells us that Bulging Wallets are not good for our health!
Here are some of my other favorite posts from some great bloggers:
- Almost Frugal currently has a series called, “How to Look Fabulous, Frugally“ I tend to buy new clothes much more often than I really need to.
- Mrs. Micah gives us a list of some great dates for under $15. My personal favorite is to watch a movie and snuggle at home on the couch!
- Frugal Dad takes a look back with his post, Blaming Parents for Financial Problems. He was already ranting about the government bailing us out our financial problems 5 months before they began doing just that.
I participate in a couple of Carnivals as well:
- Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted this week by The Sun’s Financial Diary. My article, “Pay Credit Minimum to Avoid Disaster” was featured in the Credit category.
- Carnival of Financial Resources was hosted by a fellow Debt Bloggers Network member, FWP. My article on “Quickie Bedroom Makeovers” was featured in the Lifestyle section.
That concludes this weekend’s roundup!

The visa takes life article was a very interesting read. Credit card companies are adept at encouraging us to spend and all they need are a handful to take them up on it to start generating profits. When you multiple this over every city, state and country across the globe you can see how it quickly adds up.
