It’s the weekend, which means it’s time for a round up! There were lots of great articles this week! I also participated in two carnivals. Let’s get started with the round up, shall we?
First, I want to start off with some great posts from the Debt Bloggers Network:
- Debt Reduction Formula presents Will Your Debt be Marked Down? Back in February 2008, Leap2020 predicted the U.S. would enter a recession starting September 2008. Their prediction was dead-on. If this were to happen, the conditions would be perfect for the replacement of the U.S. dollar with a new currency — perhaps the Amero or some similar “new Dollar” invention.
- How I Save Money tells us about Revising her Budget. This is something I really need to get on top of, I think if I entered my receipts daily I would be more likely to keep up on my budget!
- Financial Wellness Project reminds us of the importance On Paying Yourself First. This means that for any and all income that you receive, 10% of the income will always be kept by you, saved for you by you, given to you by you — in other words, you ‘pay yourself first’.

Here are some of my other favorite posts from other great bloggers:
- Fighting Foreclosure has been conducting an experiment - she has been tracking her electric bill as she has been slowly replacing all her incandescent light bulbs with CFLs. See how she got my electric bills down 50%!
- My Dollar Plan gives us 16 tips on how to avoid turning bulk buying into bulk spending!
- Almost Frugal (along with Simple Mom, Small Notebook, One of Three, Gidget Goes Home, Vintage Mommy, and One Bag Nation) is having a series called, “Holidays by Hand“. Each Tuesday, for six weeks beginning November 4th and ending December 9th, a different blogger will present her theme, with a craft of her own plus links to other bloggers’ projects.

I participate in a couple of Carnivals as well:
- My article, Recipe for a Green Kitchen, was featured in the Carnival of Personal Finance-Financial Armageddon Edition hosted by Master Your Card.
- The Festival of Frugality #149-Monster Mash Edition hosted by Living Well on Less featured my article, Quickie Bedroom Makeovers.
That concludes this weekend’s roundup!

Thank you for including me in the roundup. Some people do this same thing with cash…but there are some instances you cannot get a receipt with cash…so you have nothing to track and you have to write it down.
I guess you can track with a debit card as well, but then i like the rewards from my credit cards.

Lulugal~I usually ask to get a receipt if I use cash. I also get rewards on my debit card purchases, although I tend to use it as a credit card because my bank charges me $1.09 each time I make a debit purchase. I agree with the credit card, although I am trying not to use mine at all. I do use it for gas purchases as I get 6% back for those transactions!
Rachel~I can’t wait to see all the cool handmade crafts for this series!
